Best meal in ages. Food outstanding. Service helpful and efficient. Dining room very pleasant. Buzzy without being raucous. 3 course meal for 2 with cocktails and wine &pound;150.

We often go to The George for a catch up between friends. There is a large free car park (register inside the restaurant), the service us usually cheerful and fairly speedy. Tonight&#39;s salad bar was a bit disappointing, no beetroot, sweetcorn or potato salad, but I did prefer the bread rolls to the ones that are usually there. My main was chicken breast (slightly overcooked) with jacket potato, ratatouille and peas. Very delicious and filling.For dessert, it was a shame that the mini apple crumble with a drink is no longer on the menu, but now just the brownie or ice cream and a drink instead.A pot of tea, main, salad bar and dessert came to &pound;22, which all said and done is quite reasonable.

Restaurant is small to compare with same one in Richmond but its super homey atmosphere here! Food on good level, great wine and cocktails, extra points for kids steak menu! Thank you ☺️
